Scroll Coach ("Scroll Coach", "we", "us") turns the things you save from social media into a private, searchable library that you (and the AI tools you choose) can use. Your saved content is sensitive, and we treat it that way. We do not sell your data. We do not scrape any platform. We collect the minimum we need to run the product, and you can export or permanently delete everything from inside the app at any time. This policy explains the details.
We do NOT collect: your social media passwords, your contacts, your location, advertising identifiers, or biometric data.
Where the GDPR applies, we rely on these lawful bases: performance of our contract with you (running the app), your consent (optional features such as personalization), and our legitimate interests (security and product reliability), balanced against your rights.
To generate summaries, answers, and other AI features, we send the relevant saved content and your questions to AI providers (Anthropic for text; Google Gemini for video analysis, reached through our own processing server). This content is processed only to produce your result. Search embeddings are computed inside our own database environment and are not sent to a third party embedding service. We do not sell your content, and our AI providers do not use content sent through their APIs to train their models. AI access to your corpus is read only: models are never given the ability to take actions on your account.
Scroll Coach can expose your corpus to an external AI assistant you authorize (for example via the Model Context Protocol). When you connect one, you grant it read only access to your own corpus, scoped to your account and rate limited. You can revoke any connection at any time from Settings, which immediately cuts off that access.
We use a small set of trusted providers to run Scroll Coach:
These providers act as processors under their data processing terms and may not use your content for their own purposes.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross context behavioral advertising. We disclose data only: to the providers above to run the service; to external AI assistants you explicitly authorize (read only, revocable); to comply with the law or a valid legal request; and in connection with a merger or acquisition (with notice to you).
Our infrastructure is hosted with the providers listed above, and your data may be processed in the United States and other countries. Where required for transfers from the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the Standard Contractual Clauses our providers offer.
We keep your data until you delete it. When you delete a single item it is soft deleted (briefly recoverable), then purged. You can export all of your data (PDF, Markdown, or structured JSON) and permanently delete all of your data at any time from the app's Settings. Full deletion removes your captures, collections, chat history, connection authorizations, and uploaded media from your device and our cloud, and cannot be undone. Diagnostic logs are retained for a limited period and then deleted or anonymized.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, export, correct, or delete your personal data, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to data portability (GDPR), and the rights to know, delete, correct, and opt out of sale or sharing (CCPA/CPRA). Scroll Coach is built so you can exercise the core of these directly: export and delete are available in app at any time, and we do not sell or share data, so there is nothing to opt out of. We will never treat you differently for exercising a right. For any other request, contact us below; we will verify and respond within the period required by law. If you are in the EEA or UK, you may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
No system is perfectly secure, but security is our top priority and we harden continuously. If a breach of security affects your personal data, we will notify you without undue delay, and where the GDPR applies we will notify the relevant supervisory authority within 72 hours of becoming aware, as required by law. We will tell you what happened, what data was involved, and what we are doing about it.
Scroll Coach is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA/UK), and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.
We may update this policy as the product evolves. We'll update the date above and, for material changes, notify you in app or by email.
