Why I built Scroll Coach.

I have captured thousands of things. Reels with a recipe I wanted to try. Threads with an idea I wanted to sit with. Videos that genuinely changed how I think about something. I kept all of it because some part of me knew it mattered.

Then I never saw any of it again.

Every platform has a button that promises "later". I pressed it thousands of times, felt a small hit of "I will come back to this", and moved on. The feed kept moving. The thing I kept sank to the bottom of a list I would never scroll through. Keeping felt productive. It almost never was.

The moment it really got to me was my Instagram collections. I had curated them carefully, over years. They were full of things I cared about. And they were trapped. I could not search them by what was actually in them. I could not ask a question of them. I could not take them anywhere. They just sat there, locked inside an app that was never built to help me use them.

That is when it clicked. The problem was not motivation. The problem was that there was no bridge. My collections lived on one company's servers. The AI I was starting to rely on lived somewhere else entirely. In between stood me, holding a vague memory that I had kept something important, with no way to connect the two. And no person can be a search engine for their own past.

So I built the bridge for myself first. It was rough. But for the first time, the things I captured actually came back to me when I needed them. I could ask "what was that thing about the linen jacket" and get a real answer, from my own library, not from the open web.

The more I used it, the more obvious the bigger idea became. This is not a bookmarking app. A bookmark keeps a link. Scroll Coach reads what is behind the link. It watches the video. It reads the article. It keeps the details, including the ones that were not the main point, because the thing you want later is so often the thing you barely noticed at the time.

And then the part I am most proud of: it lets the AI you already use read your library. With your permission, and read only. Your captures stop being a dead archive and become living context that travels with you into whatever assistant you trust. Your corpus, your terms.

That last part matters to me more than anything. These are your captures. Some of them are very personal. So Scroll Coach is built so that you are always in control: nothing is captured unless you choose it, nothing is scraped, and you can export everything or delete all of it, permanently, from inside the app, whenever you want. I would not have built it any other way, because I would not have used it any other way.
